Baufortschritte und Kommunikationsherausforderung - Vierte Woche der Implementierung

**** English version below ****

We have already completed the fourth week of the implementation of the solar system in the school center of the Arise Child Care Initiative in Kasanje District, Uganda.

This means that the construction and installation of the PV system has already been extended by one week than planned. The delays were affected by difficult communication with the contracted construction company. Thus, some of the works have been done without the supervision of Engineers without Borders (EWB) East Africa, which could partly affect the assessment of the material and the quality of the installations. As of mid-week, there is a new construction manager on site, with whom EWB had productive and clarifying discussions to improve communication on the progress of the project.

Despite the communication issue, some significant progress has been made this week as well: The solar panels are fully suspended and the concrete base for the chain link fence has been poured. After digging the holes for the grounding and trenches for the underground cabling, the house connection lines from the distribution box to the control system were connected, the lightning protection and the manhole cover were completed, and inverters and consumer units were installed in the energy hut. EWB was also able to work with the contractor's engineer to create a design for the wiring of the proposed loads.
