Parallel zu den restlichen Arbeiten zum Innenausbau der Mädchen-Toiletten ist jetzt die Folge-Projektstufe gestartet. Und der Aushub für das Fundament der Jungen-Toiletten ist in vollem Gange.

Diese Projektstufe wird von den Rotary Clubs Kyotera und Dänischer Wohld über einen Global Grant finanziert. Unser Projektteam aus Hamburg hat dazu das WASH-Konzept geliefert und berät die Klubs bei der Auswahl der Bauträger und während der Bauausführung.

Und wann werden die Schulen wieder voll ständig eröffnet? Es nun fast ein Jahr vergangen seit die Schulen im März des letzten Jahres geschlossen wurden, um die Ausbreitung von COVID-19 zu verhindern. Heute bereiten sich 70 Examen-Kandidaten auf ihre Prüfungen vor. Nun hat die Regierung angekündigt, dass ab März diesen Jahres auch alle Schüler/-innen der höheren Klassen endlich wieder die Schule besuchen können. Natürlich bleiben besorgte Fragen offen: Rücken die Schüler/-innen gleich in die nächste Klasse auf oder gehen sie in die letztjährige Klasse zurück? Was passiert mit denen, die am Online-Unterricht nicht teilnehmen konnten, weil sie es sich nicht leisten konnten? Wie werden sie aufholen?

The contract for the construction of the boys' toilets has been awarded. Club members of the Rotary Club Kyotera recently visited the construction site on the school grounds and handed over the check for the first installment. The following project stage has started parallel to the rest of the work on the interior fittings for the girls' toilets. And the excavation for the foundation of the boys' toilets is in full swing.

This project stage is funded by the Rotary Clubs Kyotera and Daenisch Wohld in Germany through a Global Grant. Our project team from Hamburg delivered the WASH-concept and advises the Clubs on the selection of the builders and during the construction.

And when will the schools fully re-open again? It is nearly a year since schools were closed last March in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Today, 70 exam candidates are preparing for their exams. Recently government has announced that from March of this year all senior grades students will finally be able to attend school again. Of course, worried questions remain unanswered: Do the reporting students move ahead to the next class or do they go back to last year’s class? What happens to students who were unable to afford or access online studies? How will they catch up?
