Call for Tenders Hydrogeological Survey

Call for Tenders Hydrogeological Survey

The aim of the project is to work with our local partner Help Community Initiatives (HCI) to establish a sustainable water supply for the 1,500 inhabitants of the village of Malalo. Taking into account international standards and national guidelines, we have derived the following goals from the problems of the inhabitants:

1. to ensure year-round access to water that

  • is nearby (distance less than 400 metres)
  • in terms of quantity, around 25 litres per person per day
  • is independent of financial status
  • offers safety for the young women when fetching water

2. the quality of the water is improved all year round.

  • Reduction of E.Coli bacteria
  • Reduction of turbidity

3. the inhabitants develop a basic understanding of the "Safe Water Chain"

The long-term sustainability of the safe supply is ensured by taking into account population growth, avoiding overuse of water resources and avoiding misuse of these resources by imparting knowledge to the inhabitants.

The first step in the implementation process will be the conduction of a hydreogeological survey.

Therefore, Engineers Without Borders Germany (EWBG) in cooperation with Help Community Intiatives Kasulu (HCI) is publishing a Call for Tenders for a Hydrogeological Survey in Malalo, Kigoma Region.
