Vorstellung unseres Projektpartners

Vorstellung unseres Projektpartners

Ferdinand Tumwijeho:

Ferdinand (31) is an office information technologist at Suubi community projects Uganda. He is also taking care of photos from the field/ construction sites.

What do you expect from the project and what improvements do you hope for?

I hope it will improve the learning conditions of the pupils and the staff at the Sittankya primary school. They will be able to save time since they don´t need to walk long distances to collect water anymore. Hopefully no more school dropouts are going to happen and typhoid related cases will decrease.

How do you contribute to the project and why?

As the information technologist of Suubi community projects Uganda I help in the process of implementing by being at site when work is going on. I also help in capturing all the information at site that may be necessary for office.

What difficulties could arise during the construction?

When drilling the well there may occur problem of hitting the dry well however the survey was conducted. There may be problems of machine broke down or problems of environmental change like raining thus slowing work. Bad roads could also hinder material transportation.

What else do you want to tell the other Project partners?

I am thankful for the work you are doing by working with us and continue praying for the good cooperation together. A lot of help may be needed on the facility as the assessment was done and found out the school was lucking a lot.

Steven Beingana:

Steven (38) is the Founder and Managing Director of Suubi Community Projects Uganda.

What do you expect from the project and what improvements do you hope for?

My expectation of this project is to improve the safe water access and sanitation for this school so that the pupils and teachers can get a better environment at the school.

How do you contribute to the project and why?

Suubi Community Projects is the implementing Partner for this project, and I am directly responsible for the general management of the project together with EWB. My major contribution is to organize and manage the involved contractors to make sure the project is successfully implemented.

What difficulties could arise during the construction?

Every project comes with its unique difficulties. With the construction of a borehole, the biggest challenge would be hitting a dry well. However, with a proper VES done and the interpretation of the results accurate, this can be overcome. The other difficult could be delays due to contractors and the COVID situation.

What else do you want to tell the other Project partners?

I am very grateful for the hard work of all the stakeholders. I am particularly thankful to the team in Germany who have raised and continue to raise the needed funds. My appreciations go to everybody who has donated funds or supported in any other way.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and looking forward to your next visit to Uganda.
