Arrival in Adoni

Arrival in Adoni

Hello my friends,we finally arrived in Adoni. Yesterday morning, we stepped out of the train and a crowd of students welcomed us. They picked us up, since Father Chowrappa was busy at this time. Furthermore our train was about 45 min late, means generally on time for the Indian railway. After a neck breaking ride with the reailway down to Adoni this warm welcoming committee helped us to carry our stuffs to the orphanage. It is located close to the railway station, so a little walk re-energized our tired bodies. Arrived at the final destination we found out, that the kids are on holidays until the end of October. So, quiet conditions to work on our project. But since the last year students are there also over the normal holidays we had a bit of school atmosphere and a little crowd following us. So these 10 guys invited us after arranging our rooms to learn cricket. We agreed and went for a game on the field, close to the church on our compound. A group of 5 fathers, who had some discussions with father Chowrappa before joined us and trained our poor skills. To train our badminton skills, we played later also this fabulous game. After playing, we got the famous Adoni lunch, of our cook who already cared for us last year.Later we started to work on our project, went downtown to get a scale and settled additional stuff. We finished the day late in the night after a first calm introductory day in Adoni. The next morning we will welcome our second Indian colleague of EWB India.
